Travel Itinerary: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I visited Amsterdam almost a year ago now but couldn’t stay for long so had a short and sweet trip instead. The city is brimming with museums, street art, tourists, and the stench of cannabis – rather similar to Berlin, in my opinion. As we visited during winter, decorative lights lined the streets while various Christmas markets were scattered around the city, creating a festive atmosphere; there were many stalls selling poffertjes and matjes, which were simply scrumptious dishes: poffertjes, a sweet or savoury snack, was my favorite dish to devour with dollops of nutella (pictured below, last image) whereas matjes (basically sashimi) is also recommended as a snack. In terms of transportation, I’d recommend the bus, tram or metro but really, most locations are within walking distance!
