Here is a fluff free review of Schlosshotel Anif, Salzburg, Austria:
Notable Mentions: Goose Pate/ Zweierlei Gänseleber or Broccoliflan
Overall Flavours: Excellent
Staff Efficiency: Good
Ambiance: Excellent – housed within an ex-castle located by a lake, what could go wrong?
Pricing: Cheap (Euro 0 – Euro 25) to Mid Range (Euro 25 – Euro 60)
Tips: The waitstaff understand and speak English
Additional Information: The reason we visited Schlosshotel Anif was because my mother hosted her wedding dinner at the restaurant donkey years ago so since we were in Salzburg, naturally had to visit. The food was exceptional – equivalent to fine dining establishments that charge an arm and a leg; due to having a dish with meat for starters, I chose the broccoli flan as my main and the texture of the flan, paired with the sauce, was perfect! My parents started with a dish that embodied summer, gebeiztes lachsforelle (smoked salmon), then proceeded with a duck (viertel von der Bauernente) and lamb (lammbraten) dish. To end our meal, we shared the kaiserschmarren, which is a traditional Austrian dish my mother was craving but she said the preparation here differed from typical preparations – still delicious, nonetheless. Overall, if you’re ever in Salzburg, do visit Schlosshotel Anif!
